APEDA, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, launched the 'Indian Mango Mania 2025' campaign in Abu Dhabi to raise worldwide awareness of Indian mangoes. The event, held in partnership with the Indian Embassy in the UAE and the Lulu Group, marked the start of a mango festival at LuLu Hypermarket. It offers superior GI-tagged varietals like as Dasheri and Chausa from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.
The marketing included mango-based cuisine ranging from traditional options like mango pulao and chutney to global fusions like mango sushi and mango-stuffed chicken. In 2024, the UAE remained India's biggest mango export destination, purchasing more than 12,000 MT worth Rs. 171.28 crore (US$ 20 million). APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev emphasised improving market access for farmers and establishing India as a worldwide leader in premium agricultural and processed food exports.
