Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s largest automobile Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal at Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar facility, Haryana. Connected to Patli station via a 10 km rail line, it forms part of the 121.7 km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor by HRIDC. With a Rs. 800 crore (US$ 92.7 million) investment, the terminal can handle 4.5 lakh vehicles annually, significantly enhancing efficiency in automobile logistics and marking a key infrastructure milestone.

Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasised Indian Railways decade-long transformation, which saw the yearly budget increase from Rs. 24,000-25,000 crore pre-2014 to Rs. 2,50,000 crore in FY25. MEMU trains would increase from 8 to 20 coaches, with a new plant in Kazipet, Andhra Pradesh. Due to increased demand, 50 extra Namo Bharat trains would be manufactured. In FY24, the Indian Railways transported 720 crore passengers and 1,617 million tonnes of goods. Beginning July 1, 2025, Aadhaar and KYC-verified customers will have preference in Tatkal booking. Haryana's rail budget increased to Rs. 3,416 crore to cover electrification and infrastructure enhancements.
