Summary:
According to NLB Services, India's live event and concert industry would produce roughly 1.2 crore temporary jobs between 2030 and 2032. Over 100 large-format concerts per year will continue to drive employment in metros such as Mumbai and Delhi, while tier II and III cities such as Guwahati and Jaipur are emerging as important hubs. Each event generates 15,000–20,000 shortterm jobs in production, logistics, and hospitality. Tourism and the food and beverage industry are also benefiting. Coldplay's 2024 performance in Ahmedabad alone contributed Rs. 641 crore to the local economy, including Rs. 72 crore in GST income, due to enormous increases in airline and accommodation demand. About 10-15% of these professions are moving to full-time positions, with the concert economy estimated to contribute more than Rs. 15,000 crore by 2032.
