The Instahyre Tech Salary Index 2025, based on data from 42,000 anonymized candidaate profiles and 11,000 recruiter interactions, anticipates a 75% surge in demand for experts in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and cloud computing. Contributing further to the sector's expansion, remote work and the gig economy are projected to account for 10% of the growth, while 40% of professionals will need to upskill to remain competitive.
Salary trends are showing notable shifts. DevOps professionals proficient in Amazon Web Services (AWS) saw a 10% pay increase. On the other hand, junior frontend developers with less than five years of experience faced an annual salary drop of Rs. 1.5 lakh (US$ 1,750.84), while those with more than six years experienced a rise of Rs. 4 lakh (US$ 4,668.90) per annum. Python stands out as the most profitable backend skill, with salaries doubling every five years. Additionally, Java developers with over a decade of experience reported a fivefold salary increase. Bengaluru remains India's leading tech hub, accommodating 35% of the nation's tech workforce. Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad follow, each contributing 20%, while Pune and Chennai account for 15% and 10%, respectively. Meanwhile, tier-2 cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur and Indore are emerging as key centers for AI and cybersecurity talent.
