The Fisheries Subsidies Agreement (FSA) is not yet in force as it has not been ratified by two-thirds of WTO members. India has protected its fishermen's rights under this agreement, which was agreed upon at the 12th Ministerial Conference and addresses illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing and overfished stocks. The FSA focuses on illegal fishing and overfishing without mandating the removal of incentives for genuine fishermen. It allows for incentives for vessels that do not engage in IUU fishing or operate in overfished conditions.
