Summary:

During his valedictory speech at the IFQM Symposium in New Delhi, Union Minister Piyush Goyal encouraged industry leaders to prioritize quality in manufacturing and make it the default norm for customers. He applauded the IFQM initiative and emphasized the need to change attitudes toward India's commitment to quality. Citing Prime Minister Modi’s vision of "Zero Defect and Zero Effect," he highlighted the importance of sustainable manufacturing practices for achieving Viksit Bharat and aligning with a green economy.

He noted a significant increase in Quality Control Orders (QCOs), which grew from 14 orders covering 106 goods in 2014 to 174 orders covering 732 products today. This development benefited the toy manufacturing industry, leading to increased exports. He urged business leaders to collaborate with the government to improve quality in the MSME sector through the QCO ecosystem, emphasizing that India's export competitiveness should arise from self-reliance rather than subsidies, as quality is critical to achieving Viksit Bharat.
