Summary:

The Ministry of Education announced the NIRF 2024, which placed IIT Madras first for the sixth consecutive year and named IISc Bengaluru as the top institution. IIT Madras also remains the leading engineering college for the seventh consecutive year. IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta are among the top five management institutes.

The NIRF evaluates institutions based on five parameters: teaching and resources, research, graduation outcomes, outreach, and perception. This year, three new categories were added, expanding the total to 16, including universities, medical, engineering, management, law, and more. A total of 10,885 higher education institutions participated in NIRF 2024. The methodology, developed by a Core Committee and adopted in 2015, defines the ranking parameters for universities and institutions.
