According to the Hurun India Rich List 2024, India minted one billionaire every five days in 2023. The list currently includes 1,539 ultra-wealthy individuals, up 220 from previous year and reaching 1,500 entries for the first time. Over the last 13 years, India's billionaire count has increased sixfold to 334. Industrialist Gautam Adani leads the 2024 list with US$138.34 billion, followed by Mukesh Ambani with US$120.45 billion. Eighteen people are worth more than $11.93 billion.

Shah Rukh Khan debuted with $870.6 million (Rs. 7,300 crore) via investments in the IPL's Kolkata Knight Riders and Red Chillies Entertainment. Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, and Juhi Chawla are among the well-known personalities. Indian millionaires are dispersed throughout 134 cities, with Mumbai accounting for five of the top ten. Total wealth reached US$ 1.90 trillion (Rs. 159 trillion), exceeding the GDP of Saudi Arabia and Switzerland combined. The youngest billionaires are Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar, both 33, while the oldest debutant is 95-yearold Hanwantbir Kaur Sahney.
