Summary:
According to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), India has risen to be among the top three markets for visitor arrivals in Singapore, with 1.2 million Indians expected to visit by 2024. China and Indonesia ranked first and second, with 3.08 million and 2.49 million arrivals, respectively. Overall, international visitor numbers to Singapore increased by 21% to 16.5 million in 2024, though still below the pre-pandemic record of 19.1 million in 2019.
Tourism receipts for 2024 are estimated to range between Rs. 1,765.31 crore (SGD 27.5 billion) and Rs. 1,861.82 crore (SGD 29 billion), with Rs. 1,437.96 crore (SGD 22.4 billion) recorded by September, representing a 10% increase over 2023. The STB attributed this strong performance to updated offerings, new partnerships, and high-profile events such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift concerts, which enhanced Singapore's global brand and boosted related industries.
