Summary:

In a recent interview, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized India's growth as a key global manufacturing base. He attributed the initiative to creating jobs, attracting investments, encouraging self-reliance, and enacting changes that have resulted in 90% economic development, compared to 35% internationally.

Goyal expressed satisfaction with the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) system, pointing to successes in white goods and mobile manufacturing, where local value addition has increased. While certain industries have longer gestation periods, overall growth is positive. The government will continue to minimize regulatory requirements and foster a conducive environment for manufacturing and job growth in India.
