India’s real estate market is increasingly adopting sustainable practices, with a significant rise in LEED-certified developments. Operations and Maintenance (O+M) led the way with 153 certifications. The certification scope has expanded beyond commercial spaces to include industrial, residential, and educational sectors, supporting India’s net-zero emissions target by 2070. Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan, MD of GBCI, emphasized the importance of sustainability in enhancing community well-being. India's progress serves as an inspiration for global green building initiatives.
