Summary:

India is quickly emerging as a global leader in the aesthetic medicine industry, with revenues projected to triple to $3.02 billion by 2029. This growth is driven by increasing interest in noninvasive procedures like Botox and fillers, rising disposable incomes, and a health-conscious population. According to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, non-surgical treatments surpassed surgical procedures in 2020. Botulinum toxin remains the most popular nonsurgical treatment, with over 9 million procedures worldwide, reflecting a 26.1% rise, followed by 4.3 million hyaluronic acid treatments.

Currently, women account for 85.7% of the aesthetic medicine consumer base, though acceptance among men and millennials is increasing, altering the industry's demographics. India’s market is valued at approximately $1.62 billion, with a 13.2% CAGR. Dr. Rashmi Shetty notes a shift in societal attitudes, emphasizing that these treatments are now seen as beneficial for self-esteem and well-being and are no longer considered taboo.
