Rammohan Naidu, the Minister of Civil Aviation, announced that India’s domestic aviation passenger traffic is projected to exceed 300 million by 2030, with around US$ 11 billion earmarked for airport expansion. At a symposium organized by the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS) in the national capital, he highlighted the potential for collaboration between India and France to develop a global Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) supply chain.

 

As one of the fastest-growing civil aviation markets in the world, India is expanding its airline fleet and network to meet rising demand. Currently, the country has 157 airports, heliports, and waterdromes, with active airports expected to reach 200 by 2025. Additionally, plans for another 200 airports over the next 20 to 25 years showcase the immense collaboration opportunities between India and France in the aviation sector.
