Summary:
According to Redseer Strategy Consultants' report, The Big Bite: Scaling Success in India’s Food Services, the Indian food services market, valued at Rs. 6,92,320 crore (US$ 80 billion) in 2024, is projected to grow to between Rs. 1,246,176 crore (US$ 144 billion) and Rs. 1,315,408 crore (US$ 152 billion) by 2030, with a 10-11% CAGR. The report highlights how cloud kitchens and multibrand companies are well-positioned to benefit from this growth. These models offer scalability, efficiency, and flexibility, enabling rapid business expansion and higher profit margins with operational excellence.
The survey also shows that the organized food services sector, which accounts for half of the market, is growing faster than the unorganized segment. This growth is driven by online food delivery and the rise of new brands. Consumers in urban and Tier-I cities increasingly choose food delivery or dining out for convenience and social engagement. Eating out has become a social activity, driven by social media, pop culture, and the growing demand for diverse cuisines.
