Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a major green hydrogen facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Aiming to produce five million metric tons annually by 2030, the project is a collaboration between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and NREDCAP. It promises significant job creation and will strengthen the region’s manufacturing ecosystem, boosting India's renewable energy goals.

 

The Prime Minister inaugurated projects worth over Rs. 2,00,000 crore, including a new railway zone and a green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli. Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s potential to achieve a Rs. 21,4,77,500 crore economy by 2047 under 'Swarna Andhra-2047,' he praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's leadership and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to the state’s development and progress.
