Summary:

The "India Skills Report 2025" estimates that 55% of Indian graduates will be internationally employable by 2025, up from 51.2% in 2024. The survey, prepared by CII, Wheebox, and AICTE, shows that management graduates have the highest employment rate (78%), followed by engineering (71.5%), MCA (71%), and science graduates (58%). States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi, as well as cities like Pune, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, are emerging as significant talent hotspots.

 

The analysis identifies a gender imbalance in employment, with men's employability increasing to 53.5% in 2025 from 51.8% in 2024. However, women's employment rates are anticipated to fall from 50.9% to 47.5%. An examination of 650,000 applicants found that 93% are interested in internships. Mr. Nirmal Singh emphasized the need for quality skill training and recognized programs to enhance international mobility, citing a 9.8% hiring intent projection for FY 2026.
