Summary:

India's Ministry of Home Affairs has launched the G20 Talent Visa to position itself as a global hub for academic and technological collaboration. The visa targets scholars, researchers, and professionals from G20 countries, as proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 Summit. It funds post-doctoral research, academic projects, fellowships, and specialized training to foster innovation and cross-border collaboration in science, technology, engineering, and academia.

Inspired by global programs like the UK’s Global Talent Visa, Australia’s Global Talent Visa, and the US O-1 Visa, India’s G20 Talent Visa seeks to attract top talent. It enables individuals to contribute to India’s intellectual and technological growth. The University Grants Commission (UGC) will promote the visa to educational institutions, increasing awareness and participation. This initiative aims to strengthen India’s position in global academic and technological sectors, driving significant advancements.
