The government has strengthened quality compliance by issuing Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for over 150 products across household and industrial sectors. India plans to leverage QCOs to enhance manufacturing standards and limit low-quality imports, increasing the number of regulated products from 106 in 2014 to over 732 by October 2024. New regulations will impact the chemical, petrochemical, and steel industries. Through phased enforcement, the government aims to improve consumer safety and elevate the quality of Indianmade products.
