Summary:

Mr. Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, stated on Thursday the intentions to build 50 new airports in India over the next five years to enhance the country's aviation ecosystem and create jobs. The number of airports has doubled over the last decade to 157, with an additional 200 planned over the next 20 years, as noted during the opening of the Airbus India Training Centre.

 

He emphasized that strengthening airport infrastructure is critical for creating jobs and boosting economic activity. Additionally, Mr. Vumlunmang Vualnam, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, stated that India's aviation passenger traffic is expected to double in the next five years, from 220 million in 2022-23.
