Alternative investment platform

Summary:

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to boost the growth of small businesses by linking 155 industrial clusters through an e-commerce platform. This platform, led by the UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), will support over 50,000 units. It will connect raw material suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors directly, helping businesses work together, lower costs, and reduce reliance on outside suppliers. This initiative aims to improve the state's business environment.

Mr. Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA, said the e-marketplace could save UP industries ₹20,000 crore in logistics and warehousing costs. This platform supports the ‘Make in UP’ vision and helps the state become a global manufacturing hub. It is expected to boost growth, create jobs, and increase GST revenue by 7-10%. The government is also expanding its land bank to 82,000 acres by 2024-25 for infrastructure development.
