Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, has declared that India's ascent is inevitable, predicting that the country will become the world's third-largest economy within two years. Speaking on the 10th National Handloom Day, he emphasized the importance of promoting handlooms for national and global benefits, particularly in light of climate change. He highlighted the "Be Vocal for Local" initiative, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as crucial to economic independence. He advocated for economic nationalism, stressing its role in conserving foreign exchange, creating jobs, and fostering entrepreneurship.

Observing that India is the world's most populous country, Vice President Dhankhar noted that 34 years ago, India’s GDP was smaller than that of London and Paris. Today, it is the world's fifthlargest economy and is expected to become the third-largest within two years. He urged citizens to support the "Be Vocal for Local" campaign by regularly purchasing handloom items like sarees, kurtas, and shawls, turning them into fashion statements and boosting sales.
