Summary:

Banks reported stronger year-on-year (YoY) deposit growth in the second quarter of FY25 compared to the first quarter, driven by increased interest rates and innovative schemes. Four out of five banks experienced growth of at least 2-3%. Punjab National Bank reported a YoY growth of 10.98%, up from 8.10%. CSB Bank achieved a growth of 25.17%, while South Indian Bank rose by 8.6%. Karur Vysya Bank saw a 15.37% YoY gain, whereas Yes Bank's growth slowed to 18.30%.

 

In the second quarter of FY25, three out of five banks reported an increase in advances. Yes Bank's credit growth fell to 13.10% YoY, down from 14.7%. Punjab National Bank's advances increased by 13% YoY, up from 12%. CSB Bank's advances rose to 19.6% YoY, up from 17.7% earlier. Punjab National Bank's advances grew by 11.84% YoY, while Karur Vysya Bank's growth slowed to 13.98%, down from 16% in the first quarter.
