Summary:
India is developing as a prominent location for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), owing to a robust talent pool and supportive government regulations. Currently, over 1,800 GCCs have been established by more than 1,400 global occupiers, with 100 additional centres opening since 2022. These centres now occupy about 240 million square feet of Grade A office space and are expected to grow to nearly 2,300 GCCs and 280 million square feet by 2026-27, representing significant expansion.
India is transitioning from a cost-cutting destination to a strategic innovation powerhouse, altering the global business environment. Over the last 18 months, GCCs have leased 35.2 million square feet of office space, with Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai accounting for 75% of this activity due to their world-class infrastructure. Manufacturing, IT/ITeS, and BFSI dominate the GCC landscape, accounting for 78% of occupied space and strengthening India's position in global business transformation.
