Summary:
India's construction equipment industry saw a 5% increase in sales in Q1 FY25, reaching 28,902 units compared to 27,577 units in the same period last year, according to ICEMA. Growth was driven by earthmoving equipment (+5%), road construction equipment (+9%), and concrete equipment (+11%), while material handling and processing equipment sales fell by 3% and 4%, respectively.
Quarter on quarter, Q1 FY25 sales declined by 29% from 40,965 units in Q4 FY24. Of the 28,902 units sold, 26,020 were domestic, while 2,882 were exported. Earthmoving equipment accounted for 19,858 units, followed by material handling at 3,760 units, concrete equipment at 3,199 units, road construction equipment at 1,457 units, and material processing equipment at 628 units. June 2024 sales totaled 9,363 units, up 5% from June 2023 but down 2% from May 2024.
