In June, the pharmaceutical retail industry grew by 7% to around $26.57 billion (Rs. 2,22,906 crore). Augmentin, a GSK Pharma brand, became the topselling product, demonstrating strong performance despite price constraints. Calpol, Augmentin, and T-Bact saw notable growth in the most recent quarter, increasing by 10%. Acute therapy grew by 11%, while chronic medications climbed by 12%. Sun Pharma led with an 8% market share in July. Indian pharmaceutical companies grew by 11.4%, outpacing multinational corporations. Analysts expect continued growth of around 10%, driven by demand for acute therapy and respiratory products.
