Summary:

According to Axis Mutual Fund, the mutual fund industry's total assets under management (AUM) hit $798.25 billion (Rs. 67,09,259 crore) in September 2024, up 0.58% from August and 25.64% since March 2024. Equity funds grew by 3.37%, while hybrid funds increased by 1.64%. In contrast, debt funds fell by 1.33%, with equity AUM at US$ 370.64 billion and net sales of US$ 4.09 billion.

 

Hybrid funds have achieved a phenomenal AUM of US$ 118.98 billion, driven by net sales of US$ 610.8 million and a 30.35% CAGR since March 2021. The passive investment industry also expanded, reaching US$ 35.16 billion, a 41.54% increase from September 2023. Meanwhile, debt funds grew by 16.49% year on year but faced challenges, with net sales of $2.60 billion. Retail and HNI investors maintained their interest in equities and hybrid funds, bolstered by new fund offerings totaling US$ 1.73 billion.
