Delhi alone is expected to contribute $8.92 billion (Rs 75,000 crore). Following the successful celebrations of Raksha Bandhan, Navratri, and Karva Chauth, shopkeepers are attracting customers with festive decorations, lights, and various discounts and deals.

 

Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, MP for Chandni Chowk and CAIT Secretary General, highlighted India’s grand Diwali preparations, featuring vibrant lights, rangolis, and themed decorations to create a festive atmosphere. Markets in urban areas, Tier-II and Tier-III cities, towns, and villages offer gifts, jewelry, gadgets, clothing, and puja essentials. He emphasized items such as mobile phones, toys, and consumer durables. Mr. B C Bhartia, President of CAIT, noted special promotions like 'Buy One-Get One' deals, exclusive discounts, and crowd management strategies.
