Summary:
In the first five months of FY25, Apple's iPhone exports from India reached $5 billion, up 54% from $3.2 billion the previous year. This increase is attributed to Apple's decision to manufacture the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone Max in India. The current export figure matches Apple's total exports for FY22. Under the PLI scheme, Apple and its three vendors—Foxconn, Pegatron, and Tata Electronics—have a total export obligation of $8.9 billion for FY25.
iPhone shipments from India often decline between August and October as manufacturers focus on domestic demand following new model introductions in September. However, shipments are expected to rise between November and March due to the festival season and the introduction of new iPhone Pro models. In FY24, Apple produced approximately $14 billion worth of iPhones in India, with over $10 billion exported. Domestic sales totaled Rs. 67,000 crore ($8.09 billion), with Apple holding a 46% share of the premium market.
