Summary:

The e-commerce boom is driving increased spending on grooming products in India. According to NielsenIQ, the number of online electronic device brands selling hair stylers, straighteners, dryers, and shavers rose from 399 in 2022 to 571 in 2024, significantly surpassing the 154 brands available in physical stores. A Redseer and Nykaa report states that the online beauty and grooming market features over 3,500 brands, with 96% operating primarily online.

Mr. Sharang Pant, head of business, technology, and durables at NielsenIQ India, noted that online platforms offer a wider selection of grooming products. Each year, new brands emerge, providing consumers with diverse options across various price ranges. Online prices are typically 10-30% lower than in-store prices. The online grooming device market is growing at an annual rate of 22%, more than twice the 8.9% growth observed in offline retail.
