Alternative investment platform

Summary:

OYO, the travel tech unicorn, plans to invest Rs. 86.69 crore (US$ 10 million) in the digital assets of US-based G6 Hospitality, focusing on the website and app. After acquiring Motel 6 and Studio 6 from Blackstone Real Estate for Rs. 4,551 crore (US$ 525 million), OYO aims to accelerate G6's growth by building over 150 hotels by 2025, primarily in key markets such as Texas, California, Georgia, and Arizona.

As part of its strategy, OYO seeks to increase traffic to the Motel 6 website and My6 app, with the goal of quadrupling app installations before the summer. The company will employ advanced digital targeting tactics, focusing on high-intent customers and establishing direct partnerships with digital platforms like Google and Microsoft. This initiative aims to reduce G6 Hospitality's reliance on third-party platforms by boosting direct bookings. G6 has also partnered with HotelKey to enhance technology across US and Canadian properties.
