Fractional investment model

Summary:

Maharashtra leads India in the number of IGBC (Indian Green Building Council)-registered projects, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. India has experienced a significant increase in green building certifications, with over 7,000 IGBC-certified projects totaling more than 1,370 million square feet. Although green leases are relatively new, their popularity is growing due to increased environmental consciousness and demand from global organizations.

The real estate sector, a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, is aligning with national climate goals by adopting green-certified structures. These buildings set new sustainability standards by focusing on materials, energy efficiency, and water conservation, all of which are crucial for reducing carbon footprints and achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Addressing both embodied and operational CO2 emissions is essential, and effective regulations and incentives are needed. Green leases are gaining traction, with Savills India CEO Mr. Anurag Mathur emphasizing the sector's role in reaching net-zero targets.
