By investing ₹200 crore (US$21.64 million) to commission a new manufacturing facility, Eveready Industries India Ltd. has improved its standing in the worldwide battery industry. The plant, which is situated in Jammu, is the first operational alkaline battery production facility in India and represents a significant advancement in advanced manufacturing and import substitution. In order to meet the rising demand both domestically and internationally, it will increase production capacity for alkaline batteries as well as goods like flashlights and lighting solutions.
