Summary:

According to APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev, India's agricultural export basket has grown dramatically over the last ten years, from roughly 280 products to nearly 500 products. Last year, exports reached approximately Rs 4.61 lakh crore (US$53 billion), maintaining India's position among the top ten agricultural exporters in the world despite competition from the US, Brazil, China, and the EU. The growth is a result of initiatives to increase market access, diversify exports, and boost the agriculture sector's competitiveness in international markets. Value-added and indemand goods including pulses, cocoa products, pineapples, grapes, and pomegranates are now among India's agricultural exports. These goods are sold in numerous foreign markets, demonstrating the increasing popularity of Indian agricultural products around the world and promoting farmers' livelihoods and sustainable rural development.
