Summary:
CtrlS Datacenters and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) have teamed to increase India's digital infrastructure with a commitment of up to Rs 6,710.21 crore (US$710 million). Strong international investor trust in India's rapidly expanding data center industry, which is fuelled by increased demand for cloud computing, hyperscale facilities, and AI-ready infrastructure, is reflected in this move. To purchase an 8.2% share, CPP Investments will invest Rs 3,945.81 crore, making CtrlS worth roughly Rs 44,325.19 crore. Additionally, the two partners will establish a joint venture, of which CPP would own 48% and CtrlS 52%, to build hyperscale data center campuses throughout India. Cloud services, businesses, and AI applications will all benefit from the investment. It is anticipated that India's data center capacity would expand quickly, bolstering its digital economy and drawing sustained foreign capital inflows.
