By March 2026, this increased installed capacity to 5.9 GWh, enhancing grid stability and absorption of renewable energy. Gujarat had the biggest independent battery pipeline, but Rajasthan had the most cumulative capacity. Additionally, India issued 18 GW of energy storage contracts and 7.2 GW of pumped storage during the quarter, indicating significant potential momentum. These results demonstrate India's long-term effort toward a resilient low-carbon electricity infrastructure and its rapid growth.
