Summary:
India and the Netherlands will strengthen sustainable energy cooperation by establishing a green and digital corridor connecting Indian ports to the Port of Rotterdam. During a recent visit, India’s Commerce Secretary, Mr. Sunil Barthwal, met with the Port’s CEO, Mr. Boudewijn Siemon, to discuss the export of green hydrogen and its carriers to Europe. This initiative supports Maritime Vision 2030 by enhancing port digitisation, green shipping, and overall logistics efficiency.
Mr. Barthwal also met with ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet to explore a semiconductor partnership. The aim is to leverage ASML's photolithography technology to support India’s goal of becoming a global semiconductor powerhouse. During his visit to Croatia, he held discussions with senior officials Zdenko Lucić and Ivo Milatić. These talks focused on the proposed India-EU free trade agreement, reaffirming India’s commitment to deepening economic ties and partnerships across Europe.
