Summary:

In order to assess the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) and boost India's export growth, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal presided over a meeting with Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and industry associations. A concerted plan to increase exports, investigate new markets, and bolster EPC contributions was the main topic of discussion. The Minister encouraged EPCs to collaborate closely with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) by utilising free trade agreements and providing quantifiable proposals. In order to guarantee quicker, time-bound decisions and minimise delays, the government also instituted a set schedule for important committees. Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, the commerce secretary, emphasised the use of support mechanisms such as logistics assistance, export factoring, and credit guarantees. In order to increase competitiveness, the summit also supported GI-tagged products, District Export Hubs, and ecommerce exports.
