Summary:
India reached a significant milestone in international commerce in 2025–2026 when its total exports of goods and services exceeded Rs. 81.28 lakh crore (US$860 billion). The accomplishment demonstrates resilience in the face of global difficulties and improved integration with global value chains. Engineering items, electronics, medicines, chemicals, gems and jewelry, and agricultural products were among the major contributors, demonstrating widespread export development across industries. Through free trade agreements with industrialized economies, the government hopes to increase commerce, improve market access, and create jobs. The trade ecosystem is being strengthened by ongoing reforms, industry collaboration, and policy support. This achievement helps India reach its goal of exporting Rs. 189.08 lakh crore (US$2 trillion) by 2030 as part of the Viksit Bharat vision.
