Summary:

In FY26, bilateral trade between India and Kenya increased by about 25% to Rs. 3.98 lakh crore (US$4.31 billion), indicating greater economic connections. India is now one of Kenya's main trading partners, exporting equipment, medicines, petroleum products, engineering goods, and agricultural products. Growth was fueled by increased demand for Indian commodities in East Africa, improved market access, and closer business ties. The 10th India-Kenya Joint Trade Committee conference included manufacturing, agricultural, digital infrastructure, and energy cooperation between the two countries. Kenya exports minerals, tea, coffee, and soda ash, whereas India keeps a trade surplus. Future collaboration in trade facilitation, logistics, and renewable energy is anticipated to increase investment and commerce.
