Summary:
The first commercial marine shipment of premium Banganapalle mangoes from India to Singapore was successfully assisted by APEDA, a division of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, working with ICAR-CISH. On June 11, 2026, Osum Food Solutions LLP exported the 5 MT shipment, which arrived in Singapore on June 24, 2026. The shipment complied with Singapore's quality and phytosanitary criteria after being sourced from GAP-certified orchards in Andhra Pradesh and processed at a packhouse recognised by APEDA in Karnataka. It emphasises sustainable and economical logistics for exports of horticulture products. The export showed excellent post-harvest and cold-chain management, preserving fruit quality while in transit. Farmers profited greatly, receiving roughly Rs. 50 per kg as opposed to local rates of Rs. 25 - 26 per kg, almost doubling returns and enhancing India's export potential.
