Summary:
According to Bain & Company and DSG Consumer Partners, India's new-age consumer brands are expanding more than three times faster than the FMCG sector. In FY25, their revenue increased from Rs. 18,942 crore to Rs. 71,033 crore. Digital commerce, fast commerce, and innovation in snacking, cosmetics, personal care, jewellery, home goods, and wearables are the main drivers of growth. These brands outperform larger marketplaces despite having a share of less than 2% because they cater to changing consumer demands. The industries with the biggest increases are jewellery and cosmetics, which are growing 6.5 times and 6 times faster than the market. Protein snacks, healthier drinks, beauty goods with scientific backing, and ergonomic items are how they foster customer loyalty. Scaling is still difficult, with only 22% surpassing Rs. 500 crore and very few surpassing Rs. 100 crore.
