Summary:
With effect from June 1, 2026, the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) gives India 100% duty-free access to 98.08% of Oman's tariff lines, which account for 99.38% of export value. Indian exports in labour-intensive industries including textiles, leather, marine products, jewellery and gems, plastics, sports goods, and agricultural products are anticipated to increase as a result of the agreement. India's competitiveness has increased thanks to Oman's instant duty-free entry for all textile and clothing categories and zero-duty access for handicrafts. The deal, which was signed by officials from both nations in December 2025, is regarded as a doorway to the larger GCC market. It is anticipated to improve trade facilitation, help MSMEs and craftspeople, and fortify supply chains. CEPA will increase India's export reach and diversity as bilateral commerce grows.
