Summary:

India's real estate sector recorded a 70% year-on-year rise in institutional investments to Rs. 27,045.40 crore (US$ 2.9 billion) during the second quarter of 2026, driven by strong domestic and foreign investor participation. According to a Colliers report, office spaces remained the top investment destination, followed by mixed-use developments, data centres and hospitality assets. Total investments in the first half of 2026 reached Rs. 41,566.5 crore (US$ 4.5 billion), the highest first-half inflow in six years. Chennai and Bengaluru were the leading investment destinations, supported by strong office demand. Rising capital inflows, diversified investments and India's improved economic outlook continue to strengthen investor confidence in the country's long-term real estate growth.
