Summary:

Due to the growing demand for Indian processed foods worldwide, Africa is emerging as a significant growth market for India's exports of sweet biscuits. The Department of Commerce claims that increased consumer acceptance and easier access to markets are driving the growth of Indian sweet biscuits in foreign markets. In FY26, India exported 344.2 thousand tonnes of sweet biscuits, indicating that its processed food industry is becoming more competitive. Kenya is now the second-largest market for Indian sweet biscuit exports, which is mostly due to Africa's growing consumer base. In addition to helping India's objective to increase value-added food exports, diversify markets, and fortify its position in global food supply chains, the movement emphasises closer trade links between India and African countries.
