At the 12th Meeting of the India-Tajikistan Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, which was conducted via video conference, India and Tajikistan reiterated their commitment to deepening bilateral economic ties. Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal emphasised the importance of using trade, investment, market access, and regulatory collaboration to transform great political goodwill into stronger economic benefits. The meeting, which was cochaired by representatives from both nations, examined new prospects for cooperation as well as the progress made since the last gathering. With 7.7% GDP growth and US$863 billion in total exports in FY26, India demonstrated its impressive economic success. Pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, energy, IT, and digital technology were recognised as important areas. India's exports to Tajikistan increased by 27.23%, with agricultural and pharmaceutical products leading the way. A protocol reaffirming a closer economic collaboration was signed by both parties.
