The bilateral economic connections between Tanzania and India have been continuously growing; in 2025–2026, trade reached Rs. 83,367 crore (US$9 billion). At the 5th Joint Trade Committee meeting in Dar es Salaam in April 2026, all parties assessed this progress and reiterated their commitment to increasing trade and investment. Local currency trade settlement and streamlining business visa procedures were discussed. Digital infrastructure, MSMEs, healthcare, mining, agriculture, and energy are important areas for cooperation. While both countries investigated ecommerce and regulatory collaboration, India provided experience in digital solutions. Agroprocessing and technological transfer are included in the agriculture focus. Their partnership and prospects for future growth are further strengthened by India's financial support for water projects and collaboration in energy, infrastructure, and healthcare.
