Summary:
Through direct connections with buyers across the country, Indiahandmade, a digital marketplace created by the Digital India Corporation under the Ministry of Textiles, is increasing market access for India's handloom and handicraft craftsmen. The portal, which was introduced in 2023, promotes traditional crafts and rural lives while showcasing GI-tagged and One District One Product (ODOP) goods. Through streamlined onboarding, direct sales, and less reliance on middlemen, it helps over 64.66 lakh craftspeople, many of whom are women. Using an Enrolment ID, sellers who are not registered for GST can also take part in intra-state sales. Indiahandmade hopes to enrol over 60 lakh artisans and bolster India's worldwide craft footprint by providing safe payments, free delivery, and a variety of handcrafted goods.
