Indias semiconductor design ecosystem is quickly expanding, thanks to MeitY's Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme and the Chips to Startup (C2S) Programme. Startups funded by the plan, like as Netrasemi, have received significant venture capital financing (Rs. 107 crore) for smart vision, CCTV, and IoT chip development. Since 2022, the government has invested Rs. 234 crore to 22 chip design projects totalling Rs. 690 crore. Startups raised Rs. 380 crore from venture capital firms. Mindgrove Technologies has invested Rs. 85 crore in CCTV chips, while Fermionic Design has invested Rs. 50 crore in satellite communication chips. More than 72 startups have gained access to sophisticated chip design tools, with five actively testing prototypes alongside global manufacturers, indicating success in India's innovation-driven semiconductor strategy.
