Summary:
According to Vestian, India has emerged as the global centre for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), hosting about 1,700 of the 3,200 centres worldwide, or around 53%. Initially centred on IT support, Indian GCCs have evolved into centres of innovation, research, and product creation. Tier I cities, such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Pune, host 94% of these centres due to their excellent talent, policy, and infrastructure. Tier II cities like Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, and Indore are likely to see the next wave of growth, as outlined in the Union Budget 2025-26. With increased need for size and flexibility, India's GCC base is expected to grow 8% per year, reaching 2,100 by FY28, solidifying India's worldwide leadership in enterprise support and innovation.
