Summary:
To bolster India's innovation ecosystem, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) introduced the IP Catalyst and a specialized digital platform at the national conference titled "From Patent to Product: Accelerating IP Commercialization in Electronics & IT." The project seeks to assist academic institutions, industry players, entrepreneurs, and researchers in transforming patented technologies into products that are ready for the market and scalable commercial solutions. In addition to enhancing access to patent resources, intellectual transfer, and business collaborations, the platform will facilitate cooperation between innovators, investors, research institutions, and manufacturers. The government emphasized that increasing competitiveness in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, electronics manufacturing, and digital technologies requires IP commercialization. In order to help India progress in global high-tech value chains and develop a knowledge-driven economy, the program promotes innovation-led entrepreneurship, industry-academia collaboration, and R&D participation.
